Valentine's Day Vacation (or Stay-cation!)

It's not too late to whip up a Valentine's getaway to Martha's Vineyard. If you're already on the island, even better: you can book a little stay-cation without having to leave town.

Book your stay through Orbitz, and Tisbury Turkey will give 5% of your spending to our featured charity.

The Harbor View in Edgartown celebrates the holiday with a prix fixe meal designed by Chef Nathan Gould with a variety of appetizers and entrees to choose from, finished with a decadent dessert. (The "tasting for two" sounds delightful.) If one night isn't enough for you, make it a romantic mini-vacation. Check in Wednesday, February 12 and reserve your space for their Romancing the Oyster benefit dinner. You'll start the romance a few days early with a selection of Katama, Menemsha, and Great Pond oysters.

The Hob Knob in Edgartown is also offering a romantic Valentine's dinner package, replete with roses, oysters, and champagne. The Mansion House in Vineyard Haven offers a seasonal package including a free basket of seasonal goodies when you book a room between February 10th and February 20th. Book a couples massage in their onsite spa and the only thing you'll be worried about is which aromatherapy scent to choose!

And of course flowers and sweets abound, even off-season. Get your timing right, and you might get a taste of Chilmark Chocolates, but there are plenty of other options like Not Your Sugar Mamas and Vineyard Sweets. For something different, try specialty honeys from Martha's Vineyard Honey Company (a great article about them on the Point B blog here). For those roses, Morrice Florist took home the Best of the Vineyard 2013 title for flowers with Donorama's the runner up.

Whatever you choose, Valentine's day is sweeter on Martha's Vineyard.
